Modern civilization-reset narratives claim that a previous advanced civilization was destroyed and that later history restarted or was rewritten.

The theory combines real events and real uncertainties, but the central global reset claim lacks diagnostic, dated, independently replicated evidence.

Donnelly documents a modern antediluvian source-civilization claim; the listed primary texts and corrective sources do not establish a single advanced global civilization.

Answer / theory: Ancient texts do describe pre-flood worlds, kings, ancestors, and flood boundaries. A single advanced global civilization is not proven. What supports it: Textual traditions from Genesis and Mesopotamia. What is weak or disputed: Archaeological continuity and global scope. Evidence level: Mixed Evidence for the story category, Mostly Speculative for the advanced civilization claim.

The listed ancient flood sources do not equate their pre-flood worlds with Atlantis; Donnelly’s 1882 book documents a later merger.

Answer / theory: Not in the oldest sources. Atlantis comes mainly from Plato. The antediluvian label is a later merger popularized by modern Atlantis writing. What supports it: Donnelly's nineteenth-century synthesis. What is weak or disputed: No direct ancient source equates Genesis, Sumer, and Atlantis. Evidence level: Internet Lore / Mostly Speculative.
